A couple of months back, we spoke to a client that asked if there was a "discount" on his insurance for "going green". Though we couldn't find him any more savings it got us thinking about our responsibility to the community. We did some research, spoke to the power company and spend some time just looking into changing our office operations so that we could do our part.
The term "going green" refers not to the color green of course but to any of the various ways of using individual and general resources efficiently so as to conserve the earth's natural resources and limit harmful effects on the environment. At Birchell Insurance Agency we are proud to have made as many of these changes as we could find. These changes include purchasing recycled products whenever possible, recycling printer cartridges, using an agency management system to drastically cut down on the actual amount of paper and paper products that we use, using "energy efficient" light bulbs in the office, restricting our use of air conditioning and heating and making sure that all office equiptment is turned off when not in use.
We aren't a big company (yet) but we are doing our share to help save our community.
